Jillian + Tom Heythrop Park wedding film

29th May Jillian & Tom – Filmed at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire

Jillian and Tom first met while working on the cruise ships, and their wedding was a symbolic union between not only their hearts, but the hearts of two families from different parts of the world. As the groom stated in his speech, to have all of their friends and family there, who had witnessed their relationship grow over the previous few years, was truly spectacular. The setting at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire was suitably grand and stately for the occasion, and the bride was dressed to match in a gown from Brides by Demetrios. She had opted for a strapless, beaded corset with sweetheart neckline, a full skirt with ruffled detail at the back and an elaborate train. Her hair was curled subtly and completed with a sparkling beaded tiara. Jillian’s bridesmaids were gorgeous in deep purple, to match the purple flowers of her bouquet and the elegant ribbon adorning the chairs during the ceremony. They were also joined by two adorable flower-girls all in white.

The bride, along with the bridesmaids and groomsmen, descended a pair of curving stairways from the house to where their guests stood waiting, outside. The groom was evidently awestruck at the sight of his bride, who was accompanied by both her parents- as she reached the aisle, she gathered herself quickly before giving her father a swift smile and beginning the walk to her waiting groom.

After the couple had said their vows, and “promise promised” to love and honour one another for the rest of their lives, they were pronounced husband and wife and showered with rose petals before heading inside for the reception. There were many tearful speeches, particularly from her father who was overcome by the excitement and joy of the day. The couple cut their exquisite cake by Claire Louise Curtis from Cakes With Grace with a sabre, before they enjoyed their first dance on the spot-lit dance-floor. Tom spun his new bride across the floor, dipping and lifting her to the guests’ delight. They were soon joined by their families, and both were raised on chairs to be hoisted around the excited crowd. Finally, a dance for Jillian with her father was in order, and the crowd cheered them on as they hugged and shed a few more tears of happiness at the occasion.

Vicky + Pip Boarstall Tower wedding film

28th May 2016 Vicky & Pip – Filmed at Boarstall Tower, Oxfordshire

Vicky and Pip’s vibrant, quirky, colourful wedding was a joy to witness, and a beautiful day filled with love and laughter. The celebration was replete with distinct symbols and signs of the couple’s fun-loving and lighthearted characters, and their families threw themselves into the spirit of the day as well. The morning was spent industriously, with Vicky and her bridal party creating exquisite buttonholes made from, well, buttons. Vicky’s bouquet was also made from a selection of gorgeous blue buttons, and her full-skirted gown with lace embellishment on the bodice was also complemented by a striking beaded flapper headband. Even her shoes featured a special, quirky detail, and had the poem ‘Something Borrowed, Something Blue’ etched into the soles.

The bridal party travelled to the church in roaring high spirits, and in a series of three vintage automobiles. Hooting to announce their arrival, they gaily descended from their various vehicles and headed down the aisle to where Pip was waiting. Vicky’s father handed his beloved daughter to the groom with a quick request to him to “Look after her” which was acknowledged solemnly by a nod from Pip. After the ceremony, the bride and groom gave each other their first kiss as a married couple, and the congregation was encouraged to give them a big round of applause by the minister.

Outside, Vicky had to be given a little help by her new husband as she clambered back up into their vintage wagon to head to the reception. The party was a wonderful, fairground-style affair, with delicious traditional fish and chips served from a food truck, and a proper ice-cream van for guests to be served their desserts- the bride even took up her place in the van to hand people their pudding!

The wedding cake was as artistic and fun as the couple, with yet more buttons as the signature adornment. The groom’s speech was also completed with that cheeky flair seen throughout the day, as he called upon that “excellent lyricist, Beyonce Knowles” to provide a few words of wisdom. He had, as she suggested “put a ring on it” and was thrilled to be starting his new life with Vicky (also known as Vicky Squirrel).

Emma + Pete Caswell House wedding film

20th May 2016 Emma & Pete – Filmed at Caswell House, Oxfordshire

I was thrilled to film Emma and Pete’s charming outdoor wedding, which was bathed in glorious May sunshine, at Caswell House in Oxfordshire. Emma’s elegant gown with gorgeous lace detail on the bodice and sleeves was heightened by her sleek chignon up-do, with delicate pink roses both in her bouquet and her hair and she wore absolutely exquisite, peach-coloured pearl earrings. Emma’s bridesmaids were the epitome of elegance in their rose-gold gowns, and they were preceded down the aisle by two dapper young pageboys who were given a well-earned high five each by the groom as they reached him. The congregation was soon distracted by the arrival of Emma and her lovely ladies, and Pete was not the only one to appear overwhelmed with emotion by the sight of them.

The couple walked back down the aisle, now husband and wife, to applause and a showering of delicate petals, before being handed a glass of champagne each. There were endless trays of Pimm’s and delicious eats, as well as Giant Jenga and croquet to be played on the lawn in the sunshine! As the sun went down, the gathered guests moved into the glorious fairy-lit barn for dinner, seated at tables adorned with boxes of truffles and jars of sweets.

In his heartfelt toast, Pete thanked his new wife for making him “the happiest man-boy alive,” and also thanked their parents in a tearful tribute for their continuing love and support. Soon, it was time to cut the cake- a stunning, modern gold and white piece of art- and the party headed to the dance-floor where the guests were entertained by a full live band. There was also a fun photo-booth set up in the Bentley outside, for guests as well as the happy couple to take silly photos with giant emoji’s and other props. It was a glorious celebration filled with fun and laughter, and I was honoured to witness these two wonderful people begin their lives together!

Tegwen + Tim wedding film Tythe barn Launton

14th May 2016 Tegwen & Tim – Filmed at The Tythe Barn, Launton, Oxfordshire

On this gorgeous sunny May day, I was honored to witness Tim and ‘Tegs’ fulfill a promise that was, in fact, first made while they were at school. Tim admitted to having adorned his exercise book with “Tim Loves Tegs” in a big heart in Lower 6th, and this pair that had been told off for flirting in class were both overjoyed that this prophecy came true today. Tegwen looked flawless in a fitted, elegant gown with exquisite pearl beading on the bodice, and a stunning ‘up-do’ that framed her face in ethereal, wispy curls.

Her husband looked strapping, as did his band of merry groomsmen who each had a pair of brightly coloured socks on, only revealed during the photo session after the ceremony!

Tegwen’s bridesmaids looked wonderful in classic navy, their blue and pink bouquets just picking out the subtle but elegant tones of the couple’s colour scheme. For the guests, there was Pimm’s on arrival as they waited for the ceremony to begin, and once settled in their seats they gazed in awe at Tegwen and her father as they meandered down a path lined with twisted tree vines that met above their heads in a fairy-like archway.

As the groom led his new bride out again, he punched the air triumphantly with his beaming wife on his arm. After the ceremony the guests dined in the rustic yet elegant space of this wedding film Tythe Barn, twinkling fairy-lights strewn across the beams above them. Each table was named after a particular pub, so the guests were seated at a variety of much-loved establishments from The Red Lion, to Mullins, to The Devonshire and beyond! This quirky touch set the tone for the party to come, as after dinner the guests danced the night away with the beautiful bride and groom at the centre of the crowded dance-floor.

Charlotte + Neil wedding film Ashridge House

1st May 2016 Charlotte + Neil filmed at Ashridge House, Hertfordshire

“Thank you to Gary and Tracy, who brought Charlotte into this world, giving me the person I have been looking for all my life.”

Charlotte’s new husband became slightly choked up at these words, as he gazed into the eyes of his new bride. I was privileged to witness Charlotte and Neil’s spectacular wedding in the majestic setting of Ashridge House in Hertfordshire. This day was made all the more special by the fact that the couple are expecting a baby, which, in the groom’s words, would make this event “complete.” The sun shone on this magical day as Charlotte and Neil declared their love for each other, and promised (through both tears and giggles) to honor and cherish each other for the rest of their lives.

Charlotte, in her exquisite Jasmine Couture wedding dress, complete with a sweetheart neckline and studded with sparkles, was supported by her brigade of nine bridesmaids in gorgeous dusty pink, two angelic flower-girls, and two mischievous little page-boys. The color scheme was elegant and refined in rose-gold, and the bride’s spectacular, sparkling Jimmy Choo stilettos matched- although she did change into some more appropriate, comfy dancing shoes later in the day!

Bride and bridesmaids descended two sets of opposing staircases to the sweet and gentle sounds of Pachelbel’s Canon on the violin and keyboard. Neil’s nerves seemed to evaporate and a smile lit up his face when he looked up to see his glowing bride begin the descent on the arm of her emotional father, who confessed in a tearful voice during his speech later, that “if I’ve got to hand my daughter over to anybody, I couldn’t have a nicer chap than Neil.” The couple steadied each other with gentle squeezes throughout the ceremony as they quivered in awe of the special moment.

The reception was topped off with a sumptuous meal- the bride and groom presided over proceedings in golden thrones- and a regal pink and gold cake by Natalie Porter. The couple slow-danced to Ed Sheeran’s ‘We Found Love,’ performed by a live band, before they were joined on the dance floor by their party. I wish this wonderful couple and their new baby all the best for their future together!
