3 reasons to be excited about weddings in 2021 and beyond
2020 has been one of the most difficult years in living memory, and if you’re anything like me you were probably really hoping that 2021 would really be a case of new year, new start. Unfortunately, it hasn’t panned out that way, as we’re all in yet another lockdown and currently there is no end in sight.
But thinking about it, we have all got lots of reasons to be excited about weddings in 2021 and beyond. Don’t believe me? Read on to find out why.
1. Lots of time to plan your wedding
The pandemic has decimated the wedding industry but with a vaccine now being rolled out, it looks like we can start to organise weddings again. And while it’s frustrating not knowing exactly when we will be able to get back to normal, it does mean you have lots of time to plan! Venues, wedding themes, dresses, food – for once you don’t need to cram in all your research around your other plans but can use this time at home to do lots of research without feeling rushed.
And rather than holding yet another Zoom quiz with your family and friends, why not hold a ‘wedding planning’ session? Super easy to arrange and also a great way of getting everyone involved and pooling ideas.
And while you might not be able to visit any wedding venues in person, a lot more are now providing virtual tours, which will at least give you some idea whether they might be suitable. These wedding venues are some of my favourites and definitely worth considering.
2. Celebrate in style with loved ones
Weddings are always about friends and family coming together to have a wonderful time, but can you imagine how amazingly special any weddings in 2021/22 will be after having not seen your loved ones for so long?! Most of us are already planning some kind of party when this is all over, so how wonderful if you can do that while celebrating a couple’s big day.
And if numbers are still restricted or people are still a bit worried about travelling, don’t forget to book a wedding videographer. As well as providing you with a cinematic wedding video you can watch again and again, it also means you can share your wedding with those unable to attend.
Last year, I videoed a number of socially-distanced weddings, including this one at Marston St Lawrence, Northamptonshire, and I am also able to provide a live-stream service, so if you have any questions about my Covid-secure wedding videography services, please get in touch.
3. Cheap destination weddings
The thing about a pandemic is every country in the world has been affected one way of another. And given hospitality and travel have been two of the hardest hit sectors, it stands to reason they’ll want to attract back customers as soon as possible. So, this could mean there will be some really good deals available for destination weddings. And who wouldn’t want to get married at a luxury resort or on the beach after everything 2020 has thrown at us?!
Now is a great time to take a look at what’s available to see whether a destination wedding would be right for you. And even if you don’t want to get married abroad, you might be able to more easily afford the honeymoon of your dreams.
If you do want an international wedding videographer, I’m worked all over the world including the USA and Greece, so will be happy to chat through your requirements.
