5 reasons why drone footage will add the extra wow to your wedding film
Why booking a wedding videographer with a drone license is important
Choosing a wedding videography for your big day is a big decision, but have you given any thought to having drone footage as well?
As drone technology has improved, more and more couples are opting to hire a drone for their big day, and it’s not hard to see why. Non-obtrusive and capable of capturing breathtaking aerial footage, it adds a new dimension to your wedding film.
As a CAA qualified drone pilot, I’m delighted to include drone footage in all my wedding packages. Drone footage will depend on factors such as the weather and any flight restrictions that might be in place, but it really does add the extra wow to help
create cinematic wedding films that will never be forgotten.
Not convinced? Well, here are the five reasons why I offer drone footage to all my lovely couples.
1. A drone makes your wedding video (and wedding) that little bit different
One of the things I love about being a CAA qualified and licensed drone pilot is it enables me to offer my couples something a little bit different. Most videographers aren’t licensed to fly drones so are unable to capture your wedding day from the skies. But who wouldn’t want stunning aerial footage of their big day?
Obviously, I don’t need to include drone footage in your cinematic wedding film, if you don’t want me to, but when I do the results are truly spectacular.
And, of course, having a drone at your wedding also means you wedding will definitely be one to remember!
2. It helps capture spectacular group shots
Group shots are a necessary evil at weddings but the more guests you have the trickier it becomes to set up! With a drone, it really doesn’t matter how big your wedding is, as it’s super easy to fit everyone into the frame.
And of course, having a drone also means you can have a bit of fun. Want your guests to spell something out or stand in a heart shape? With a drone you have lots of opportunities to interact with your guests which will help make your day even more special for everyone.
3. Drone footage provides a different perspective
By their very nature wedding venues are stunning locations, so what could be better than having aerial footage of the venue itself, as well as a stunning reminder of the cityscape or countryside around your venue?
A drone will capture the full grandeur and unique features of your wedding venue, providing a lovely reminder of why you choose it for your special day.
4. Capture moments that would otherwise be missed
Unobtrusive, discreet – my approach is to blend in seamlessly with your guests so I can capture all the elements of your day as they organically unfold. Offering drone footage as part of my wedding packages enables me to take that one step further, with amazing results!
Often people don’t even realise there is a drone capturing all the wonderful moments of the day, which means people don’t feel they need to put on a smile for the camera! The result, tears and laughter captured as they naturally unfold.
And of course, with a drone, you don’t have to worry about Great Aunt Kitty walking in front of the video camera at a crucial moment!
5. Adds the wow to your cinematic wedding film
Let’s face it, a cinematic wedding film wouldn’t be complete without a sweeping aerial shot juxtaposed with a close up of the happy couple! And that’s exactly why having a drone as part of your videography wedding package is so perfect.
Whether it’s setting the scene, introducing creative angles or capturing the bride and groom against a stunning backdrop, a drone can go places, a normal video camera can’t to create a once in lifetime cinematic wedding film.
