7 reasons why a spring wedding is the ideal, romantic choice

Spring is the season of hope and renewal, which makes it an unbelievably romantic time to get married. And that’s before you factor in the abundance of stunning blooms, the warmer weather, longer days, and the fact everyone is excited to have put the winter months behind them for another year.

Basically, if you’re looking for the ideal time to get married, spring is it!

We take a look at why spring is the perfect time to make the ultimate commitment to your loved one.

I know it feels as though we haven’t really had a summer, but you could argue that autumn is a better season anyway. Beautiful autumnal colours in the trees; comfy warm clothes; hot drinks in front of crackling fires! And of course, autumn is one of the best times to have a wedding, especially if you want a stunning cinematic wedding film that will stand the test of time. Why? Read on to find out.

1. The weather can be perfect

Neither too hot nor too cold, the weather during the spring months is perfect for a wedding. Of course, you can’t guarantee it won’t rain, (when can you ever in the UK!), but the temperatures will definitely be rising, and you won’t risk facing the extremes of temperature we sometimes see in the winter or summer months

And of course, as the days are getting darker later, it means you can party outside long into the evening.

2. Wedding venues look simply amazing

Gardens in full bloom; cherry blossom on the trees – there is nothing better than seeing such an abundance of colour and life after the dark and dank winter months.

And as gardens usually look their best during spring months, just think how great your wedding video and photos are going to turn out as you both stroll romantically through the flower-filled grounds

3. You’ll get beautiful lighting for a stunning wedding video

We’ve spoken before about how the lighting in autumn is perfect for a cinematic wedding film. Well, the same could be said for spring weddings. In fact, even if you do have some spring showers on your wedding day, the cloud coverage they bring with them is actually ideal for a flawless, undeniably romantic wedding video and wedding photos.

4. You can be brave and get married outside

Warmer and longer days mean you will have a bit more flexibility in where you want to hold your wedding. A tent outside is a great option, especially if you are worried about April showers!

Just remember spring is also allergy season – so if you do suffer from hay fever, you might decide having your big day inside is a wiser option.

5. You’ll have an abundance of choice

When it comes to a spring wedding, the world really is your oyster. The milder weather means you won’t be restricted on your style of wedding dress, and you’ll also have a rich array of flowers to choose from as so many beautiful blooms are in season.

And as suppliers tend to be less in-demand compared to the summer months, you’re more likely to be able to book the venue, caterer, or wedding videographer of your dreams, even if you have left it to the last minute.

6. There will be more options for your wedding video

Better lighting, better weather, better backgrounds – all help make spring wedding videos truly exquisite. Just take a look at this one I did for James & Anika

Also, the better weather means there is a good chance, you’ll be able to incorporate drone footage into your wedding video, the perfect way to make your wedding film that little bit different and even more breathtaking.

7. Guests will genuinely look forward to attending!

There is nothing better than having something to look forward to as soon as we get

January and February out of the way, and a spring wedding definitely fits the bill. Not only will your guests be super happy to have put the winter months behind them and to be out with friends again, but also if your wedding is the first one of the year, chances are they won’t yet be facing wedding fatigue!
