How did you guys meet?
Dating app – Tinder!
Tell me a bit about the two of you, what do you guys do? How do you spend your time?
Eoin works at Coca Cola and has been there for many years. He loves running and is completely obsessed with football – he supports Hull City and Hayes (our local team).
Charlotte works at a clothing company called Boden, although she is currently on maternity leave. Our daughter Delilah was born in March 2023 and is the apple of our eye! Charlotte likes trash tv, crafty activities, baking and the occasional gardening!
How did the proposal go down? (All the gushy details, I love this bit!)
Eoin proposed in Edinburgh in the gardens in front of the castle. He was carrying a huge backpack round all day which Charlotte thought was odd – it turned out he had the ring in there all along! Charlotte was about to eat a Greggs sandwich (classy!) and before she did, Eoin had got down on one knee. There were lots of happy tears! We spent the weekend celebrating in Edinburgh
How did you choose your wedding venue(s)?
Charlotte always knew she wanted a relaxed barn like venue. She grew up in Oxford so wanted it to be near there since it’s a lot more picturesque than Hayes (where Eoin lived!). We looked at several venues and the Great Barn ticked all the boxes, including plenty of pretty areas for photos!
What sort of experience do you want your guests to have?
Relaxed, fun and plenty of food and alcohol.
Can you describe some of the details and stylings, does your wedding have a theme?
No theme, but Eoin’s half Irish so you will see a lot of Irish influences at the wedding, such as the band and choice of drink (Guinness!)
What was the hardest decision during the planning?
Seating plan
What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?
When planning for your budget, triple it and add another few thousands and then you might be close to the cost of the actual wedding 🙂
