How did you guys meet?

Notting Hill, 2014. Dave is an Estate Agent and was attending a property on the day tenants were moving in to support the Landlord. I was a relocation agent with a part time inventory clerk business, so I was there supporting the tenant. I thought he was gorgeous but couldn’t say anything as we both had clients there. I went back to the office and asked for his number so I could contact him, and they told me no, that was very unprofessional. So, I found him on LinkedIn and messaged him 😀 …and the rest is history!

Tell me a bit about the two of you, what do you guys do? How do you spend your time?

Dave is still an Estate Agent but now working in Primrose Hill, London. I work in HR for Adobe in Maidenhead though I’ve not actually been to the office yet as I started with them during the pandemic. Dave loves cars, particularly his V8 Land Rover Defender. I’m horsey, so spend most of my spare time at the stables with my horse. We’re renovating our house in Gibson Lane, so a lot of time and energy is going in to that at the moment. We’ve just ripped the kitchen out and its touch and go whether the new one will be in in time for the wedding eeeeeek!

How did the proposal go down? (All the gushy details, I love this bit!)

It was my birthday (Christmas Eve) so we’d gone to stay in the Cotswolds for the night. We got hammered on Champagne in the pub all night and then went out to let the dog go to the toilet before bed. I’d been nagging Dave to propose for years, and he hadn’t so I’d pretty much given up on the idea and I was so drunk and surprised when he went down on one knee, that I accidentally broke wind (bearing in mind that up until then I’d managed the full 4 years of our relationship without letting one slip.) I was then so mortified I burst in to tears and ran off and refused to accept the proposal (…..until I saw the ring).

How did you choose your wedding venue(s)?

I went to view several, but we liked Notley Tythe Barn as it was nice and close to the Church

What sort of experience do you want your guests to have?

Relaxed, celebration, lots of laughter

Can you describe some of the details and stylings, does your wedding have a theme?

Christmassy theme – reds, golds, dark greens 🙂

What was the hardest decision during the planning?

I really wanted a videographer and Dave didn’t, so it’s taken me until now to persuade him. I have every confidence you will prove me right 😉

What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?

I found it really helpful to rehearse the day (mentally) several times and envisage what I’d need, who would be there, how I would want it to look etc
