Our wedding film love story
How did you guys meet?
At work, we are both personal trainers…
Tell me a bit about the two of you, what do you guys do? How do you spend your time?
We are obviously interested in training and keeping in shape. We love sports. We have a dog called
Reggie so we enjoy long dog walks. We’re big foodies and love to eat out and try new restaurants.
We’ve recently got into natural wine, so we enjoy trying new ones and going to nice places that have it.
How did the proposal go down? (All the gushy details, I love this bit!)
We went away for a couple of days in the Cotswolds (March 2019). I thought it was just to have a few
days off work and relax, however when we pulled up to the fish hotel and had the best ‘hideaway hut’
I thought wow he’s gone all out for a couple of days. We then did a beautiful scenic walk in glorious
sunshine, up to the Broadway tower which is a famous/ popular spot in Broadway with the most
stunning views, and before I knew it he was down on one knee popping the question. It was perfect,
complete surprise and very personal. We then had a lovely bottle of champs outside our hideaway
hut looking over the river which was beautiful. Followed by dinner at the fish in the evening.
How did you choose your wedding venue(s)?
As we got engaged in the Cotswolds which is one of our favourite places, we decided we wanted to get
married there. A friend of ours had recently got married in this venue so we checked it out and
viewed it – we knew it was perfect straight away, so we went for it. We did look at several others
however, they didn’t compare to Blackwell grange it’s absolutely beautiful and immaculately kept.
Perfect balance of traditional and modern.
What sort of experience do you want your guests to have?
We want them to have a fun enjoyable experience of course, especially after this past year. We want
the feel to be relaxed and free flowing not too stiff and formal. As that reflects us as a couple.
Can you describe some of the details and stylings, does your wedding have a theme?
There’s a lot of open greenery as it’s Cotswold’s countryside, the traditional Cotswold stone is a feature
of the thatch barn which is stunning. Then the modern building where the bar & reception room is, is
modern and beautiful. The two buildings are close together with beautiful gardens in between so it’s
easy to move from one to the other with lovely photo and video opportunities.
What was the hardest decision during the planning?
The big things weren’t too difficult, it’s finalising all the small details of decoration and
finishing touches (as that doesn’t come that naturally to me) and working out the logistics of
everything for on the day etc. But I know it’ll look beautiful on the day.
What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?
Choose the guest list that will make you happy, not one to please everybody else. And BE ORGANISED.
