‘Tis the season to…
2021 has been a bit of a strange year. After disastrous 2020, we all thought it was going to be one to remember, but with COVID still having an impact on lots of aspects of our lives, many of us have still been unable to do all the things we wanted.
But with Christmas just around the corner (how did that happen!), we do have a lot to celebrate and look forward to, especially on the wedding front.
Enjoy a Christmas wedding or two
You can’t deny there is something incredibly special about a Christmas wedding. Gorgeous colour schemes, the perfect excuse to wear something super sparkly and elegant and with people winding down for the holiday season everyone (vendors included) are a little less stressed and more relaxed.
December is the perfect option for more intimate weddings, as Mark and Dan will tell you when they got married last year at Ashridge House. And as a bonus, venues tend to be a bit cheaper in the winter months, so you might be able to get that expensive venue of your dreams.
Celebrate a New Year Eve’s wedding proposal
New Year’s Eve is a time when we celebrate the past and embrace the future, so what could be more perfect than marking the occasion by popping the question?
Chances are you will be both dressed up to the nines, you’ll already have champagne on standby and if you’re at a New Year’s Eve party, you’ll be able to share the moment with all your friends. A perfect way to end a year that has been pretty unremarkable and to celebrate what the future holds.
And just think, there’ll be no chance of you ever forgetting your proposal date!
Plan your spring or summer wedding
With most of us taking some well-deserved time off over Christmas, it gives us chance to sit down, relax and start making plans for the new year. And what could be more enjoyable than finalising your arrangements for your upcoming wedding?
So in-between eating lots of chocolate and watching Kung Fu Panda for the umpteenth time, dig out all your wedding magazines, take a look at all the websites you’ve bookmarked but never looked at and start pulling together all the final details for your big day.
From guest lists to wedding favours use this down time to get on top of everything. You’ll be glad you did once ‘real-life’ kicks in again on 4th January!
Find your ideal wedding videographer
If you haven’t found your wedding videographer or photographer yet, this is the perfect time to sit back with a glass of something warm and spicy and scroll through online portfolios of their work.
If you’re not sure where to start, here are some useful tips to help you out. The first one is probably the most important as it will have a massive influence on which wedding videographers you should add to your shortlist.
If contacting them over the Christmas period feels a bit too much like hard work, then by all means wait until January, but doing the groundwork now will at least take the pressure off when the festive season is over.
After all, the last thing you want is to be frantically trying to find your ideal wedding videographer when you’re juggling work and everyday life. Remember, your wedding video will provide you with lasting memories of the day, so for a wedding film you’ll want to watch time and time again, rather than one you’ll happily record over, take your time and enjoy the process of finding your ideal wedding videographer.
